　　在有骨皮的皮肤样本中，与没有骨皮的样本相比，与骨细胞发育相关的一组基因的活性得到了提高。但是产生角蛋白的基因活性却下降了，角蛋白是皮肤的关键组成部分。马登说，下一步是观察所有这些基因实际上是如何生长成骨真皮的。
